Celebrate You- Wednesday Challenge from SSS

Hello Everyone!

Before I get started, can I just say how cute is this little illustration!

I bought few new things for this card. I got the Penny Black rubber stamp and I also got the Spectrum Noir Alcohol Marker sets to color this cute illustration. Both items can be purchased at Simon Says Stamp. I used an old birthday stamp called "Celebrate you today" with VersaMark ink and blue embossing powder to coordinate the color with the tea cup and her bow. (I love using embossing powders. It gives the card a little dimension). I then drew the ornate lines and flower to add a little interest.

I love how this turned out! These markers are so nice and affordable. I was debating at first because the price was so reasonable but after using them I will definitely be buying more to build my collection! I think these are my favorite markers so far and I will be using them again for more card designs.

Hope you enjoyed reading my blog. Until next time...

Thank You Card

Hello Everyone!

I have been loving my Distress Inkpads from Simon Says Stamps a lot lately. I love how easy it is to blend these colors to give a soft gradient look.

I used my chevron block stamp from Michael's that I bought from a clearance isle. The distress ink colors I used were Wild Honey, Picked Raspberry, Dusty Concord and Peacock Feathers. I used a teal color cardstock, cut it in a ribbon shape and used white glitter embossing powder.

These distress inks are becoming one of my favorite products and I can't wait to do more more techniques with it.

Thank for visiting my blog. Until next time...

Happy Father's Day Cards

This year for Father's Day I wanted to create a handmade card for my dad. I really liked the way the first one turned out so I decided to use the same stamp set and create another design. But now I can't decide which one I should give it to him. Maybe I'll give him both :)

So the card base I used for both was a heavy Strathmore watercolor paper and I used distress ink pads to create the background colors. The clear stamp set from Michael's had all those cute little images which I colored in primacolor premier color pencils and added glossy accents by Ranger.

Majority of the products like the watercolor paper, glossy accents, color pencils and distress ink pads can be found at www.simonsaysstamp.com

Thank you for reading my blog. Until next time...

Hello! What's new?

Hello Everyone!

I have another card design for you. I'm using the same stamp set and Akashiya Sai watercolor markers from the previous post. I'm just in LOVE with these markers. They blend so well and give the best effect when you dip your brush in water.

For the sky I used Tim Holtz distress ink in squeezed lemonade blended with tumbled glass. I added some Ranger's Glossy Accents on the word Hello and mushroom caps. Some of the products that I used such as the watercolor markers, glossy accents and distress inks can be found at www.simonsaysstamp.com

Hope you all have a nice weekend!

Friends forever card

Hello Everyone!

This special cute card is for my coworker and friend Burgundy.

The clear stamp set is from Hero Arts and it has bunch of cute animals. I used two from that set along with the mushroom, flowers, ladybug and butterfly. I like sets with lot of variety so you can use them more than once.

I used my current favorite Akashiya Sai watercolor markers for this card. I just can't stop raving about how awesome these watercolor markers are. They are my go to markers for doing this type of coloring.

To finish this card off, I added Glossy Accents from Ranger to give it some 3D effect. For the very light blue sky I used Tim Holz Distress Ink in Tumbled glass.

And that pretty much finishes my card. I cant wait to give this to my friend!

Happy Friday!

Birthday card for my dad

Hello Everyone!
So I made this card for my dad's birthday. I used the same stamp set from my previous birthday post and decided to do a pattern of balloons. I used the Akashiya Sai Watercolor brush pen set that I bought from Amazon to color the balloons. For the blue gradient at the bottom I used Tom Holz distress ink pad in the color tumbled glass and faded it upwards with some wet brush.
The words "Celebrate you today" were from the same set and I used dark orange and yellow embossing powder to give it a gradient look.
It's a very quick, easy and cost effective way to use your stamp set twice.

Birthday card for a friend

Hello Everyone!
I got my Akashiya Sai Watercolor brush pen set in mail today from Amazon and decided to give it a test drive. These watercolor markers are amazing! They are super pigmented and vibrant.

I found this clear stamp set from in a clear isle at Michael's and figured since my friend's birthday is coming up I'll make something fun for her.
This is my very try making a card so I'm very pleased with the way it turned out.
Thank for reading... until next time.
